Archana Patni

Born in 1974 and started learning the rich traditional Jaipur Gharana of Kathak at the tender age of 10. Was fortunate enough to learn this style from Guru Kanhaiyalal Javada ji, Smt. Rekha Thakar ji at Jaipur Kathak Kendra and Guru Rajendra Gangani ji at National Institute of Kathak Dance, Delhi.

Progressively she has been adding value and fitness to her dancing skills.She remained a scholarship holder of Jaipur Kathak Kendra, Jaipur for one year. She was also selected in an interview held by Rajasthan sangeet Natak Academy, Jodhpur and recieved scholarship for two years for training under Guru Rajendra Gangani ji in Delhi.

Gave performances all over Rajasthan and other cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore, Katni, Trivendrum, also places abroad like Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Malaysia.

Gave solo performances in renowned temples, documentary films and famous festivals like 'Nisha Gandhi' and 'Surya' Dance festivals. Performed in 'Yuva Swar Samaroh', 'Tarun Kalakar Samaroh', Yuva Samaroh', 'Jaipur Samaroh', 'Leela Parva', 'Fagunostsav', 'Nrityanjali Samaroh', 'Kumbha Yuva sangeet Samaroh', and 'Kathak Samaroh' organized by Jaipur Kathak Kendra, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Latit Kala Academy, Shruti Mandal, Jaipur. Also gave performances in programmes like 'Kal Ke Kalakar' organized by Sur Singar Samsad & Nritya Darshan, Mumbai and Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi. Played the lead role as Ganga in the ballet 'Rasvarti' and 'Rang'.

Has performed and choreographed the Annual Functions, 'Kathak Samaroh' in 2010 in collaboration with Jaipur Kathak Kendra, Jaipur, 'Shraddhanjali Samaroh' in 2013 and 'Natwari' Programme' in 2017 organised by 'Sanskriti'Academy.

Gave a solo performance on the prestigious stage of 'Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan ' organised by Sur Singaar Samsad on 9th June 2017.

Gave a solo performance as well as choreographed a group performance of 'Sanskriti' Academy artists in 'Varsha Utsav' organised by Patel Cultural Foundation, Mumbai and Bhavan's Cultural Centre, Andheri on 29th July 2017.

'Pushpanjali' by Sanskriti Academy was held on 20th August 2023 in which the Alankaar students gave solo and group performances. Also, the Visharad students and all the Kathakars of Sanskriti Academy participated and displayed their art and skill.

Done Post Diploma in Kathak Dance from Jaipur Kathak Kendra; 'Nipun' from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow; 'Alankar' from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, M.A. from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh.
